Could I ask if you could tone the font down a bit 2. Could you put the market sell orders and buy orders buttons to the top of the search bar, instead of tapping the summary every time. Thank you for the update, I have not been able to create or edit fits while offline, I greatly miss this functionality. Also, the fitting engine appears to be much slower than it used to be.
1. The previous used function does not collapse completely but remains on the right (from a usability perspective this is bad, and also looks bad). 2. The attributes don't fit at the bottom of the character sheet (bug). 3. zKillboard is slow to load, please let us SAVE specific players/corps/alliances for quick access. 4. Black background is too harsh, please use the same grey color you use around the search bar in the rest of the app. 5. The mail is difficult to navigate with everything on one page, look at how Apple mail works - use a category for each mailbox instead of forcing the user to collapse inbox to see the other items at the bottom. This is really bad from a usability perspective.
1. Have the app display a red balloon notification on the icon upon receiving new mail, would be cool if you could have it check for new mail automatically while checking the API in the background (just like push mail).
2. Add notifications to mail, they are very important.
Do you consider pushing your current sources to github again? Others could take the opportunity to fiddle around with the visuals as they are the big showstopper atm for this otherwise best EVE App around.
Hey there, I hope those 25 bucks boosted your confidence a bit. I love your effort and work, but there are some things that could use some cleaning up.I love the new features and additions, But here's some places to improve, 1: the fitting screen is way too zoomed in, I can't really see more than 4 moduals at a time, (maybe make modual slots scroll horizontally and have fitting info under?)
2: I love that I can see the ship mastery levels, but maybe you could make skill levels that you click, show what that skill lets you use?
3: it's much laggier than the previous version, I hope you don't need to recode it again to fix that.
4: I'm not really feeling the black color, I liked to old color better, (maybe make the fitting screen show a parallax image of the ship your fitting?) it makes it feel too empty.
5: font is too saturated and big, makes it hard for your eyes to read on the black background
6: I freaking love this app, and I hope you don't take this as negativity, just helpful criticism, hopefully you can make this app awesome! The fitting tool is by far the best thing about this app, if you can perfect it, you'll have the most popular eve app on the market. Hello, Artem, a long time user of your app here. I'm afraid I'll have to criticize your 4.0 edition too. Here's a short, but incomplete list of complains:
User Experience is worse than before. Readability has dropped, fittings are unavailable offline, the app feels slower. Loading items too fast crashes the app, as does opening the database on ipad 2 while offline. I've had it continually hang up on me, to the point I stopped using it on ipad completely.
In fact, the experience turned out so bad that I'm seriously thinking to code a new replacement app myself. Sorry, but I honestly feel that the old version was (vastly) superior.
Completely agree, and more. If I can't go back to version 3 I am giving this app up and sticking with desktop or web utilities.
I actually still have version 2 available to install and it is a beautiful thing. The only solution is: full user data exports, and skins. You can make money selling the version 2 skin!!! :)
I cannot adjust to the new layout and feel a lot of the spirit of the program was lost with the latest update. I don't know if this is a version with pending interface updates or if it's intentionally using the flat design fad spreading around the Internet, but please consider bringing some of the last version's aesthetics back (less harsh background, readable fonts.) I do appreciate the information density being kept though, thank you for that.
Please take this as constructive criticism as I have been using and loving your app for many years.
A few things that bother most are the lines that are ubiquitous throught the app, the become very ditracting. The high contrast is also strenuous on the eyes. While you've increased the size of the text it now wraps awkwardly in some places. Those are my main gripes with the visual UI elements. Functionally the app has, mort the most part, been solid. I'm glad you also reworked the caching, while not broken, it was sometimes a minor annoyance.

Nice with an update to adjust the changes made in 1.3. However I also have complaints, many are the same as the previous.
1: The font is too large for comfort unless you're on an iPad (I guess) 2: Fitting tool has become extremely slow, delays between menus. No longer feels smooth to use. 3: The app is nearly useless if you don't have internet connection and if you don't log out before hand. If you don't have internet connection (iPod Touch/iPad), the app completely bugs out. You can't open/edit fits as the screen just locks while trying to load the fit/database. You can't log out because the screen locks, trying to get API information. This needs serious fixing. 4: Please sort the mailbox into Inbox/Corp/Alliance 5: I'm not too fond of the slide menu, it doesn't really fit the app. But it's something I can live with. 6: Collapsible bars are really hard to hit if they are at the top, and often you go back to the menu or to the top when you try to collapse. 7: The black background doesn't really fit. The grey was better 8: Some of the ME values seems off, unless an Abaddon BP can reach 2.5mil ME. 9: Make adding drones "smarter", so that it wont add above the maximum drone bay capacity (ex adding 5 drones to a ship with 10m3 drone bay) 10: It has a thing of showing "No Result" while loading, or if there are only a few options. 11: When making a fit, please let the PG/CPU amount stick to the top again. It did this in v2, gone in v3, still gone in v4. I would love it to come back (maybe as an option?) 12: Please, for the love of EVE, put the Export Fits to Browser in the app again!!
But enough with the complaints/feedback, there are things that I love in the app too. The addition of masteries in the ship info and training times is a really nice touch Optimizing attributes, means I can stick to the NeoCom instead of constantly going back to EVEMon Quick market data, such as PLEX/Mineral Prices. Always nice to have The new skills window and skill queue is really nice. Keep that one. The expanded character sheet is really nice, GJ
I hope this feedback is of use, and I hope I don't seem to be mad/angry at what you've updated the app into.

A few suggestions for future versions… 1.Show Jump Clone and Remap time remaining on Character Sheet 2.Eve Time/Local Time conversion tool 3.Add Pods to fitting section (include pods from API) 4.On ship fits, make the above pod fits selectable 5.On Fitting statistics character selection, add option to include skills from a saved skill plan 6.Add Eve Notifications (probably disabled by default, with ability to turn each type on and off, to avoid nuisance notifications) 7.Add “Applied Damage” vs. another saved fit to Stats screen, including speed, size, orbital range and such
Just to be different, I'm here to tell you the app looks and works great, mostly, on the iPad. The only niggle I have with the new version is that the font for news previews is too SMALL. On the iPad, I'm having a lot of trouble reading them to decide whether to open them in the browser. Other than that, great job as usual!

Long Time NEOCOM user, also happily paying customer. However, I had to reset my phone, and therefore re-add my characters to the newly updated NEOCOM. Unfortunately ion pressing the "plus" sign to add characters, the application crashes. User selected workarounds (like turing the icloud storage option off) do not work as well. Any timetable for a fix?
This character addition problem has been persistent for weeks and the developer has yet to do anything about it. He hasn't even commented in his own support thread about these problems. Honestly hate my iPhone because I had to switch from aura on android to this crap app. Please pay attention to your product and fix whats wrong.
sometimes when i start the app it wont load anything and then the app crashes, Please fix this. And when the app works its very slow in the fitting tool. But i still love the app, keep up the good work and good hunting on the bugs.
I loved your previous version and was ready to donate. But your latest release took away the most useful tool: The Neocom Market no longer allows me to check prices in regions I specify. Why was this feature removed? Now all I see is a summary of the top buy and sell orders in the entire universe, which is virtually useless. Thanks for a great product. Please each new release should add or improve not remove.

hmmm no update yet, and update after Kronos getting ready to drop. The higher frequency update schedule might become a problem for smaller app developers.
Hey Neocom is about the most useful eve tool ever. I LOVE the fitting tool. I use it all the time. Few questions. Are you making enough money off this thing for it to me worth all the work? Yes I donated to it because its quite worth 1$ I just want to make sure there is continued support. Also are there plans for a PC desktop version? I like it way better than anything available for the desktop right now.
i had a lot of problems with the app when i was running on a older IOS version when i updated the IOS to 7.1.1 al my problems where solved. Maby somebody can use this info

Just wanna say, that I love this app. It has taken sometime to get used to the changes. 1. Delays on updates. Don't know if this is a time issue or an Apple issues. 2. Desktop version. I don't know if the dev would wanna join up with others to help develop desktop versions. The new coding language Apple has sounds like it works both desktop and mobile. 3. Communication. Another app I have, the developer keeps users up to date via Facebook group when he has made changes and submitted to apple. Just a thought. I will have a donation in the mail if/when I can find a job that pays enought to afford more than bread crumbs from a dumpster. :)
I love the database for items but I would love if, when you are looking at a specific skill, I could see other skills that that skill is a requirement for and maybe items as well.
Now that CCP has committed to frequent updates, would it be possible for the database export to be an in-app download instead of being included with the app? That would allow users to get the latest and greatest information without having to wait for a new version of the app.
On my iPad 3 ios 7.1.2 the condensed character sheet on the left only shows Max integer value 2147483647 ISK. My wallet is bigger and shows just fine on iPhone 5s with same ios
My character sheet doesn't updater any more. The ISK amount is not right and the skill queue is stuck with with a skill im long (2-3 days or so) done with.
Just downloaded it and can't get my pilot info. Just gives "unknown error" message. Tried to update API keys many many times, and I can see my pilots' portraits, but still no info on them at all. Foolishly upgraded to remove ads, hoping that might clear up the issue, but alas...
It is very rare that I feel I've wasted 99 cents on an app, but this is one of those cases. VERY disappointed in this app.
Updates tend to be slow. I am sure the app's author has other things in real life too. + iOS 8 was bound to break an app or two. Even if this app die's, I sure got my 99¢ worth.
Since the Hyperion update (or since the iOS8 update, not sure) all my saved settings are gone: API keys, skill plans and fittings. Is there any way to get them back?
EHP of ships in not correct. Module info is not correct -missing info like %of resist. Combined with what happend above it is not a good update. Hope you fix it soon. Ps or hire someone to work with you or to keep us up todate.
So I have an iPhone 6+ with iOS 8 and I'm having the same problems. None of the information for my pilots is there. It just keeps saying "forbidden" and "Unknown Error". I've tried installing a new API key and I've tried saving the API key manually. Any ideas?
Hi, I am using an iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3. After updating to the latest version of neocom this morning the app crashes everytime right after I start it. It freezes for a few seconds, even if I do not touch anything and I am back at my home-screen.
I have the same problem on my ipad 2nd generation with iOS 6.1.3. My first guess would be a memory problem. I hope that you will fix the problem, as I enjoyed using your app thus far.
Ditto, iphone 6 plus with version 4.8.8193 of Neocom; Neocom crashes each subsequent launch, seemingly when awaking from being 'sleeped' by iOs. i.e. Fresh launches are fine, but once it gets backgrounded and made active it freezes and restarts
After updating to ios 8.2 i set the backup back, but the app wont reload the old data. i do see some old data in the icloud settings but it just dont sync or something. anybody knows a fix for this? Love the app btw (when its working ^^)
Just a short bug report: The fitting tool randomly crashes on my iPad mini, espcially when opening a fit. Sometimes it deletes modules out of these fits stripping them completely or at least partially. This happens with fits that have been complete before, so not during the edit.
Actually I have to add: The app crashes randomly at all different kinds of occasions. I have known it to be way more stable in the past. Also it sometimes doesn't load for example a fit or the skill queue for a long time (several minutes). The circling star next to the wifi symbol is active during that time indicating internet traffic. But it seems to be stuck. I still find this is the best app for EVE out there but there are some usability problems.

Awesome that Neocom was updated to Mosaic! But, seems to have broken access to iCloud, and previously cached data. Lost all my fits, linked accounts, and now even after updating Neocom on both my iPhone and iPad are saying that I need to update "all devices" for it to sync from the iCloud. Additionally, getting quite a few crashes, particularly when importing API keys.
iCloud data sync not working no characters are loading, tried to add an api it loaded, then iCloud data from 6months ago overwrote data, relaunched the app and now no characters are loading. Checked iCloud storage found two entries for Neocom deleted the smaller entry hoping it would resolve this but it appears to have had zero affect, removed and reinstalled app same problem zero characters load added a new character api it loaded but vanished after switching between apps. Very frustrating
I deleted all the iCloud data, uninstalled the app from my iPhone and re-installed the app on my iPad then entered my API keys again the app has now worked fine for the past two days, it did give me a warning that for iCloud backup to work I needed to update the app on all my devices. I was able to import most of my saved fittings by eve mailing them to one of my characters and then opening them in the app from the evemail.
I think it would be cool if there was a feature in the fitting screen that would let u see incoming mods like remote shield boosters and cap boosters. It would be good to see ehp and cap changes on incoming mods.
Icloud disabled, it crashes refreshing character, with Icloud on, every time I put the credentials gives me "Error" and an OK button. IOS6, iphone4. How to delete Icloud data?
Is it me or is the search option gone when you look at the market prices? i mean is it still possibel to look at the jita price for a naga or any other market item??? if not PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put that option back, i really really really liked that.
Having the same icloud problem as others here. I remember reading somewhere to delete and redownload the app on all devices (I have two). Deleted the app. Reading this thread, though, I wonder if it's worth bothering to redownload it. :-(
Newest version crashes constantly and doesnt save fits. All my fits are disappearing. Any changes i make disappear after 20 mins. All my fits are stuck! Also when trying to change implants, app crashes almost all the time.
New update looks nice. Seems a bit slower tho. Only found one small thing that is now missing in the fitting tool you can't see the HP of your Shield/Armor/hull anymore. Only the Ehp total.
Latest version can't find anything under the zkillboard option other than a character, if you enter a alliance or corporation it errors out with a message that it can't find said alliance or Corp.
Hey Artem pls also fix the EHP of the fitting tool. A Proteus in here has 433k EHP when in de game only 200k or so. Rest looks good. Still a great app.

2.Eve Time/Local Time conversion tool
3.Add Pods to fitting section (include pods from API)
4.On ship fits, make the above pod fits selectable
5.On Fitting statistics character selection, add option to include skills from a saved skill plan
6.Add Eve Notifications (probably disabled by default, with ability to turn each type on and off, to avoid nuisance notifications)
7.Add “Applied Damage” vs. another saved fit to Stats screen, including speed, size, orbital range and such
Just to be different, I'm here to tell you the app looks and works great, mostly, on the iPad. The only niggle I have with the new version is that the font for news previews is too SMALL. On the iPad, I'm having a lot of trouble reading them to decide whether to open them in the browser. Other than that, great job as usual!

When you first open the app, scroll down to settings and turn off the "use iCloud Storage switch. After I did that, my characters loaded correctly.

ReplyDeleteLong Time NEOCOM user, also happily paying customer. However, I had to reset my phone, and therefore re-add my characters to the newly updated NEOCOM. Unfortunately ion pressing the "plus" sign to add characters, the application crashes. User selected workarounds (like turing the icloud storage option off) do not work as well. Any timetable for a fix?

This character addition problem has been persistent for weeks and the developer has yet to do anything about it. He hasn't even commented in his own support thread about these problems. Honestly hate my iPhone because I had to switch from aura on android to this crap app. Please pay attention to your product and fix whats wrong.

Why was this feature removed? Now all I see is a summary of the top buy and sell orders in the entire universe, which is virtually useless. Thanks for a great product. Yes I donated to it because its quite worth 1$ I just want to make sure there is continued support. Also are there plans for a PC desktop version? I like it way better than anything available for the desktop right now.

ReplyDeleteJust wanna say, that I love this app. It has taken sometime to get used to the changes.
ReplyDelete1. Delays on updates. Don't know if this is a time issue or an Apple issues.
2. Desktop version. I don't know if the dev would wanna join up with others to help develop desktop versions. The new coding language Apple has sounds like it works both desktop and mobile.
3. Communication. Another app I have, the developer keeps users up to date via Facebook group when he has made changes and submitted to apple. Just a thought.
I will have a donation in the mail if/when I can find a job that pays enought to afford more than bread crumbs from a dumpster.

Updates tend to be slow. I am sure the app's author has other things in real life too. + iOS 8 was bound to break an app or two.

ReplyDeleteHi, I am using an iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3. After updating to the latest version of neocom this morning the app crashes everytime right after I start it. It freezes for a few seconds, even if I do not touch anything and I am back at my home-screen.

ReplyDeleteJust a short bug report: The fitting tool randomly crashes on my iPad mini, espcially when opening a fit. Sometimes it deletes modules out of these fits stripping them completely or at least partially. This happens with fits that have been complete before, so not during the edit.
ReplyDeleteActually I have to add: The app crashes randomly at all different kinds of occasions. I have known it to be way more stable in the past. Also it sometimes doesn't load for example a fit or the skill queue for a long time (several minutes). The circling star next to the wifi symbol is active during that time indicating internet traffic. But it seems to be stuck.

ReplyDeleteAwesome that Neocom was updated to Mosaic! But, seems to have broken access to iCloud, and previously cached data. Lost all my fits, linked accounts, and now even after updating Neocom on both my iPhone and iPad are saying that I need to update "all devices" for it to sync from the iCloud. Additionally, getting quite a few crashes, particularly when importing API keys.
iCloud data sync not working no characters are loading, tried to add an api it loaded, then iCloud data from 6months ago overwrote data, relaunched the app and now no characters are loading.
ReplyDeleteChecked iCloud storage found two entries for Neocom deleted the smaller entry hoping it would resolve this but it appears to have had zero affect, removed and reinstalled app same problem zero characters load added a new character api it loaded but vanished after switching between apps.

I deleted all the iCloud data, uninstalled the app from my iPhone and re-installed the app on my iPad then entered my API keys again the app has now worked fine for the past two days, it did give me a warning that for iCloud backup to work I needed to update the app on all my devices.

ReplyDeleteOnly found one small thing that is now missing in the fitting tool you can't see the HP of your Shield/Armor/hull anymore. Only the Ehp total.
Latest version can't find anything under the zkillboard option other than a character, if you enter a alliance or corporation it errors out with a message that it can't find said alliance or Corp.
