The last review attempt failed.

The last review attempt failed with Apple. I confirm renaming application to Neocom. I hope this name will not cause such conflicts
I'll be grateful for any help in the design of icon and logo. I plan to finish the new version by the end of the week and send to review.
Thanks to all.

  1. Too bad the attempt failed. But NEOCOM is a sweet name! Hope everything works out and someone will help you with a new icon!!!

  2. How about using the same icon as the neocon in game? Can you ask for permission from CCP and present that to Apple?

      Thanks

  4. Yeah, I thing "The Neocom" should work. I don't see any other similar names on the app store.

As for the app logo, it doesn't need to be too fancy or complicated, it could just be a big "EVE" logo or maybe even the CONCORD logo or something; as long as the app works like it does now, I'm happy!

One request: is it too much to ask for a "EVE Map" section as well? There was another application which came with a map, and it was very useful (info such as asset location, ships killed in the last hour, etc.). I know it's a lot, but if there was just one more thing I think the Neocom needs, it's the map. :)

    1. Oh, and a nice little aesthetic addition would be making the skill-training timers count down in real-time, sk that you don't have to keep updating to see your currently-presented skill-training list's remaining time left.

  5. No offence but, I don't like the new logo, to be honest. The colors are so bright and shiny. I like the dark red-brownish style it has now.

If I may, I would like to ask a graphic designer friend if he would like to create a second suggestion.

    1. Toby Rayfield also suggested the following icon http://clip2net.com/s/28zrQ. I think it looks also not bad.

    2. between the two options i like this one better, reminds me a little of the game battleship. maybe drop the grid.
but like someone said, i would enjoy this app eve if the logo would be a big turd...

    6. Hey Artem,
      I didn't make that logo.
You need to credit the creator, not me!

    7. Attempt #3 to leave a reply here. The icon should not have the name in it. So far they all do (I like the second one the best because it is not *just* a name). Why? Because in iOS the name is always associated with the icon. Look through all your iOS apps and see how many have their name inside. Sorry, but it is redundant.

Again, I like icon #2 above (with the grid) and I love the metallic border -- gives the whole thing a sci-fi and industrial theme. Just get rid of the name (or use it in the app itself, just not on the icon).

I apologize, this icon created by Kurt Otto :)

  6. Will we have to download the new app or will it nitrifying us of an update and change the name of the app then?

Also, would it be at all possible to get the market information to sort by prices? I look at buy orders and sell orders and it's a mess... Can't ever tell what the highest buy is or lowest sell without readin all o them

    1. You do not need to search an application in the AppStore again. You will be notified when update will be ready.

  7. "notifying us of an update and change the name of the app then? "

You'll get a notification when the update is available when you open the app store. This will indeed update the app and change the name.

  8. Been nearly 3 months since the last update, I need my fitting tool fix!

Are you planning an update for the frigate and mining barge changes coming August 8th?

    1. Sure. If the current update will be approved by Apple, then the future updates will be released without such long delays.

  10. Most icons dont show the full name because the name is either too long or they are apps for a service that is already well known and has a catchy logo. Of course apps like facebook or skype dont need their name in their logo but these things dont apply to neocom. Six letters perfectly fit on an iPhone logo. Did you notice the colors of the font are the same as the capacitor in game? Most of the details of the other logo wont be visible in the original size.

    Just my two cents.

  11. i agree, for iphone app name of the app in icon is so 2009 :-)
really the letters will be so small there will be no effect at all

  12. Surely the priority should be to get a working App out to the world, the f*cking icon can be sorted out at a later date.

  13. Update has already been done for about a month ago, and users of jailbroken phones can install it. But i hate Apple review team for their slow work. All questions can be efficiently solved in a couple of days. But in the case with Apple, each attempt takes one week.

    1. Thanks for your persistence in dealing with apple. Us capsuleers without a jailbroken iOS device appreciate your efforts.

  14. Any word on whether Apple will release the new update? It has been 7 days since it was submitted and checking the store to see no updates is getting depressing :-)
